What would it be like to have confidence in balance, walking and vitality?

And then pass it on to others?

These all-too-common problems drag people down.

Poor Posture

Decreasing balance

Musculoskeletal pain: back, neck, knee, hip

Fall risk

Difficulty walking

Inability to get up and down

Injury in traditional exercise programs

Life gets increasingly hard … when such issues go unaddressed.

Research shows that lack of movement contributes to disease, including pain, osteoarthritis, dementia, depression, and many other conditions. When it is easier to move, we move more.

Are you ready to explore quality movement through somatic learning and teaching?

Perhaps the easiest way to describe a somatic approach to health is learning from the inside out. We are born with this ability. Yet using this inborn intelligence is often missing in today’s rehab and fitness worlds, and if we are truthful, from adult experience in general.

Yet, science is important too.

Body intelligence together with cognitive intelligence defines a usable path towards function and vitality. Bones for Life® is a practical, available, and transportable somatic education approach that does just that.

Can you imagine feeling the power of standing against gravity?

Instead of gravity using you, learn to use gravity. Bones for Life develops your awareness of pressure and how it travels through your body. Through its stimulating, weight-bearing movements, you will rapidly reorganize into increasingly higher potential. Movements are taught in a variety of positions. We start in the safety of lying down, returning to sensation and finding our alignment in relation to the floor. Then we move to supported standing, then unsupported upright and finally more dynamic balance challenges.

Bones for Life®: A Movement Intelligence Program Change your relationship to gravity

In this training, you will learn how to harness the power of gravity. Instead of it bringing you down, it will lift you up. Instructors Cynthia Allen and Brian Shircliff have each experienced dramatic change through this work and have witnessed incredible unfolding and growth for many others.

Deepen your inner knowing, become an expert on your own body, move with elegance, respect yourself, and navigate with power. Move the way nature intended.

The entire Bones for Life program consists of 90 fast-acting exercise processes. In this beginning segment, you will learn the first 20+ processes. The safe, weight-bearing movements challenge bones to be strong and sturdy while improving balance and coordination. Created by Ruthy Alon, a somatic pioneer, and student of Moshe Feldenkrais, the work masterfully blends function, learning, and skeletal alignment.

“I had a severe injury that wasn’t healing. When I started bouncing on heels, (a BFL exercise) I learned just a little tap was extremely helpful! I could do that while brushing my teeth or drying myself off in the shower. It made such a difference doing bouncing on heels in the morning and in the evening. If it sounds like I’m a believer, it’s because I am a believer.”

Nikki Owens, Phd, E-RYT 500, YACEP

“I’ve been in the field of health and wellness for over 47 years. I’m not easily impressed. I've also had a lot of accidents and injuries. Now I have young grandchildren and I want to do things with them. I can get up and down from the floor, but I wanna run! Even as a Feldenkrais practitioner and Physical Therapist, there's always the fear of falling. I feel like Bones for Life has freed me from that fear.

When I'm running with either my new little puppy dog or my grandson, I'm feeling every bit of how my foot is on the ground. It's so practical. A lot of my fear of falling has decreased. Cynthia’s generosity of both knowledge and time is remarkable. This doesn’t even account for her energy. I am not sure how she does it, but I would highly recommend continued study with her if you are at all able.”

BethBeth Rubenstein, Physical Therapist, Feldenkrais Practitioner

“Continuing with Bones For Life, Teacher's Certification was one of the best decisions I ever made, both for my professional and personal growth. It gave me confidence as a teacher and brought my observation skills to a new level. It provided a sense of belonging to a lineage and connection to a professional community. It unleashed my creativity and opened a new perspective on what I wanted to do and how. It inspired, motivated, and transformed me on so many levels that I'm still processing that...I truly can say I feel it in my bones!

Natalia Waldman, Authorized Awareness Through Movement Teacher, Certified Bones for Life Teacher

“When my classes are over and we come to stand, I watch people wipe off their mats, go get their phone and their shoes or go to the dressing room. It's almost like I can see their old habits creep in. With Bones for Life, I’m not seeing that. I see something different: a posture that is muscular, that is held. It’s sustained, not spontaneous uprightness that quickly goes back to the old slouch.”
